And now Chapter 13 Part 4

Now, after explaining the analogue of the analogies given for the concept of the Tzimtzum, the Mittler Rebbe will proceed to explain the analogue of the analogies given for the concept of the Reshimu.

However, the level of the Reshimu, which was explained above (in chapel twelve), which is similar to a summary of a concept, which includes the entire lengthy explanation within itself. In the upper spiritual spheres this is understood as representing the power of limitation that exists within the Infinite Light, which is essentially without any limitations. Meaning the ability to bring the entire radiance of the Light of His Essence - which is unlimited - into revelation in a limited manner. So that, even though the Infinite Light possesses no essential limitations and is completely perfect, the ability of self-limitation is included within the Infinite Light so that G-d can reveal and express Himself in any manner He wants and even in a limited manner. This is even to the point were G-d can make His entire Essence revealed in a completely limited manner. Yet, not only does this not detract from the infinity of the Infinite Light, this is actually a greater revelation of G-d’s perfection, for it demonstrates that He is not limited even to being infinite, but that to Him the greatest infinity and the ultimate limitation are equal and so He may chose which ever one He so desires as the medium of self-expression. Which this is the concept of the Reshimu, that It includes within Itself, in a limited manner, the entire Essence of the Infinite Light. As per the analogy of the summary, which includes everything within itself etc. For G-d, blessed be He, is omnipotent and also contains within Himself the ability of limitation, to condense and include within one Impression [Reshimu] the entire Light of His essence etc. and as is explained elsewhere at length.

However, in truth, this is not a true analogy to describe the Reshimu that was left within the aforementioned "hollow void" and "empty place," because this Reshimu indicates that everything was removed from this "empty" place, and not that some light was left only that it was in a short and limited manner, as indicated by the analogy of the summary of a concept, but rather, the Reshimu represents a complete removal of the original Light, so that, only a mere Reshimu [impression] remains. If so the true comparison for the concept of the Reshimu is from the blueprint and marks of the short lines that craftsmen make that include the entire lengthy construction process or even more so a true analogy can be drawn from the sign to remember, as mentioned previously. So too, the concept of a sign to remember is found pertaining above in the Light of G-d, as it is written "the rememberance of your abundant kindness" meaning only a rmemberance of the essential kindness of G-d Himself is left over etc. and the like. So that, just as in the analogy of the blueprint and the sign to remember, the original Light is completely gone and all that remains is like a sort of hint or clue as to what was there originally. Such as a fingerprint, where the person himself is gone and there is nothing of the person left behind, only the form of the grooves on his finger and yet the investigators can know from that who the person was. So too, the entire Light of Creation is not the direct revelation of G-d’s unlimited Essence, but rather, only a revelation of limited created beings such as stars, planets, people, birds, fish, trees, rocks, energy, or even spiritual creations such as angels, souls and the Sfiros which are all merely creations and bear no relationship to the Creator and yet their existence hints at the existence of G-d and His infinity and perfection, or else creation - something from nothing - would not be possible. So that, the entire Light of G-d’s Essence is concealed within Creation and can be revealed though it.
