Previously:

Two levels of Binah: Binah and Tvunah.

Tvunah is the extension of the light of Binah as a result of the proper absorption of the concept in the brain to bring it to expression into different things in many different ways

Examples of the ‘separate things’ into which Tvunah can extend:

(a) analogies to explain the understanding of Binah to someone else

(b) a decision or ruling based on the understanding of Binah, as in a legal decision and

(c) a practical use for the understanding of Binah,

(d)The man of Tvunah can bring to light the Midos (emotions) from the Midos of Binah,

Yisroel Sabah and Tvunah are the Middos of Chochmah and Binah as they are COMING OUT of Chochmah and Binah rather than how these middos were actually part of Chochmah and Binah themselves.

And Malchus (Kingdom) of Tvunah is the aspect of the intellect that comes into conscious thought . This is the level of thought that the intellect is enclothed within and it is the external vessel of intelligent thought,

Two aspects of thought come out of Malchus of Tvunah, one: the content of the thought and two: the division of the letters of thought

Tvunah is called "Ben U’Bas" (Son and Daughter i.e. the emotions) (The letters of Tvunah when rearranged are Ben U'Bas), as is known.

Tvunah also has three dimension: depth; length; and width.

The depth of Tvunah is the essence of the power of this Tvunah-insight into the particular understanding

The length of Tvunah is the concept’s descent into a separate matter, to advise with it or to perform many activities with it, etc..

The width of Tvunah is the extension of the Tvunah within the concept itself to widen the concept in one’s thoughts in many different ways and not only how it is itself.

And now Chapter 2.08

Now, when we say that the level of Tvunah includes within itself Ben U’Bas (Son and Daughter), meaning that the Midos are born out specifically from Tvunah into revelation as a separate entity. For, from Binah itself there would not be the birth of the Midos, though it is called the ‘Mother of the Children,’ etc. (however, it can not give birth to the Midos for it is the Upper Mother). This can be understood metaphorically to mean that just like physically a person can be divided into two halves an upper and a lower; the upper being the mind and heart, seat of the intellect and emotions, while the lower is the is the digestive, and reproductive systems; and just like physically a persons more dominant and prominent half is the upper one, which is also the seat of one’s essential personality, with which one is most largely identified and associated. So too, with Chochmah and Binah, each divides into two halves - an upper (Chochmah and Binah proper) and a lower (Yisroel Sabah and Tvunah), and both are named after and mostly associated with their upper halves. In addition, just like how physically the actual development of a child is in the lower half of the mother; so too, the actual development of the Midos, which are born out of Binah, is specifically in its lower half, namely Tvunah. Yet, on the other hand, a mother’s lower half is dependent on her upper one, and when we speak of the child’s mother, we refer to more than the womb, for the personality of the woman who is having the baby remains her dominant self, though with regard to the fetus alone the womb is more active in its development. So too, we can understand the relationship between Binah and Tvunah, so that, while Binah is referred to as the ‘Mother of the Children’ and though it is the more dominant half of Binah, still the actual development of the Midos is specifically in Tvunah, as it is, therefore, compared to a mother.

So now we can understand how Binah itself can not give birth to the Midos, on the other hand Tvunah is called the ‘Lower Mother’ - for it is able to give birth to the Midos; and this is the meaning of ‘Ben U’Bas’ (son and daughter) the two primary emotions of love and fear (i.e., a positive and a negative response, Chesed and Gevurah, which are the two essential emotions, representing the right and left line, while the middle line, Tiferes, is the synthesis of the two; and the lower three, Netzach, Hod, Yissod, are the external reactions of the first three), that are included within Tvunah, for it is the downward extension of the light of Binah, into anything separate, including the emotions, as mentioned previously.
