two levels of Binah: Binah and Tvunah.
Tvunah is the extension of the light of Binah as a result of the proper absorption of the concept in the brain to bring it to expression in many different ways.
So the man of Tvunah is one who can explain a deep theoretical concept to another in simple terms and analogies, making the concept understandable in a down-to-earth way.
The power of Tvunah is the power to extend the power of Binah to bring its depth down into revelation to the recipients etc.
Examples of the ‘separate things’ into which Tvunah can extend,
(a) analogies to explain the understanding of Binah to someone else,
(b) a decision or ruling based on the understanding of Binah, as in a legal decision and
(c) a practical use for the understanding of Binah
Midos within Binah
Midos within the Tvunah
The man of Tvunah can bring to light the Midos of Tvunah from the Midos of Binah,
A man of Tvunah is one who possesses the ability to absorb the essence of the understanding very well therefore, the grasp of the concept extends within him to be able to use it and to render a decision from it concerning many matters that are completely separate from it. It is also in his ability to bring the depth of Binah into revelation
And now Chapter 2.05
(In addition this is the concept of the ‘Lower Father and Mother’ namely, Yisroel Sabah (Israel the Elder) and Tvunah. Yisroel Sabah is the Midos of Chochmah (the emotional attributes within the faculty of wisdom) and Tvunah the Midos of Binah (emotional attributes within the faculty of understanding). However, they correspond to how the Midos are coming into a state of revelation out of the abstract perception and understanding of the mind, into a conscious recognition of how the Midos should react to this, though it is still only an intellectual leaning and not yet an actual emotion, as was discussed previously. That is Yisroel Sabah and Tvunah are the Middos of Chochmah and Binah as they are COMING OUT of Chochmah and Binah rather than how these middos were actually part of Chochmah and Binah themselves.
And the level of Malchus (Kingdom) of Tvunah is the aspect of the intellect that comes into conscious thought (the different levels and types of thought and how conscious thought comes out from Malchus of Tvunah will all be explained later in the book). This is the level of thought that the intellect is enclothed within and it is the external vessel of intelligent thought, (as opposed to thinking to oneself about how one is feeling, which comes from the emotions not Binah or purely senseless thoughts like thinking to oneself the lyrics of a song, as will be explained later) which is the revelation of the understanding of Binah itself, coming from the essence of the intellect and reasoning etc. as understood in Binah into revelation in one's conscious thoughts. For how the intellect is in Binah itself it is in the state of pure intellect higher than thoughts, as we see that two people can hear the same explanation from the same teacher at the same time, and yet, one will understand and one will not, even though they were both paying attention and they could both tell you what the teacher said. This is because for the one it remained in thought only, so that he heard what the teacher said and remembers it, while the other one understands, the difference is a non-verbal mental connection taking place in the faculty of Binah itself, as all of this will be explained later.
