two levels of Binah: Binah and Tvunah.
Tvunah is the extension of the light of Binah as a result of the proper absorption of the concept in the brain to bring it to expression in many different ways.
So the man of Tvunah is one who can explain a deep theoretical concept to another in simple terms and analogies, making the concept understandable in a down-to-earth way.
The power of Tvunah is the power to extend the power of Binah to bring its depth down into revelation to the recipients etc.
Examples of the ‘separate things’ into which Tvunah can extend,
(a) analogies to explain the understanding of Binah to someone else,
(b) a decision or ruling based on the understanding of Binah, as in a legal decision and
(c) a practical use for the understanding of Binah
The power of Tvunah is spreading out from the power of Binah, refers to the fact that it is in its ability to bring the essence of the understanding into a state of extension lower than itself into everything separate from it.
and similarly to bring the idea into thought in many different ways.
And now Chapter 2.04
Until now we have understood Binah proper to refer to the three upper sfiros of Chochmah, Binah and Daas within Binah (this is why it is referred to as the ‘Upper Mother, meaning the upper sfiros within Binah, which is termed the ‘Mother’). While Tvunah referred to the seven lower sfiros or the Midos of Binah (therefore, it is termed the lower mother, consisting of the lower sfiros within Binah - the ‘Mother’). However, this poses a difficulty for, seemingly we find that there are Midos within Binah itself, called the ‘seven lower Sfiros of Binah’ and they are also what is referred to as the Midos within the intellect. Meaning an intellectual leaning towards innocence or an intellectual leaning towards guilt, as it is known that the meaning of the emotional attributes or Midos within the intellect is an understanding that dictates a certain emotion. These are, however, independent of Tvunah for they are how the Midos within the intellect are still hidden within the essence of the understanding. In other words, these Midos only represent that inherent in a certain understanding are implied certain consequences and applications, yet, they remain hidden, unknown and unrealized since Binah itself is cold unemotional ANALYSIS. However, to bring their revelation into a separate matter, for instance to rule about a specific circumstance based on this logic and reasoning, leaning the judgment of this case type towards Chesed (-kindness-i.e., innocence or merit) or Gevurah (-severity- i.e., guilt), specifically the man of Tvunah can bring to light a legal decision out from the Midos of Binah, and so on with any other type of practical application or with putting the idea into an explanation for someone else, it takes specifically the power of Tvunah to bring out the light of Binah.
Now a man of Tvunah is one who possesses the ability to absorb the essence of the understanding very well. This is also caused specifically by the Hisbonenus itself -i.e. by the repetitive analytic study which if continued after one already understands the concept will result with the absorption into the vessel of the brain and engrave new grooves upon it; therefore, as a result of this that he absorbs the idea well, the grasp of the concept extends within him to be able to use it and to render a decision from it concerning many matters that are completely separate from it. It is also in his ability to bring the depth of Binah into revelation, as mentioned previously - in other words, he can explain it to others in a way they can understand; so that all of these abilities to apply his understanding comes from the idea being absorbed well in his mind, and this explanation will suffice for the understanding.
